Cooling water quality for motors with internal cooling circuit
made of stainless steel.
Chloride concentration < 150 ppm
Sulfate concentration < 200 ppm
Nitrate concentration < 50 ppm
Amount solutes < 350 ppm
Particle size of dirt ≤ 100 µm
Conductivity < 2,000 µS/cm
Coolant temperature
When setting the coolant inlet temperature
within a range of 10 ... 40°C (for derating see
⮫ Chapter 8.5 “Derating in case of deviating
ambient conditions” on page 58) observe the
ambient temperature and the existing relative
air humidity. To avoid condensation, the coolant
inlet temperature must be above the dew point
temperature . The following figure shows the
dependency of dew point temperature of relative
air humidity and air temperature.
Fig. 4: Dew point temperature depends from
ambient temperature and relative air humidity
Example ① Saturation 15.3 °C at ambient tem-
perature of 25°C and relative air
humidity of 55%
Remark: To avoid condensation of the motors,
the coolant inlet temperature must be above the
dew point temperature .
