SOFTENER WORKING PRINCIPLE
A softener works as shown in the diagram here below:
Within the treating column
the softening resin
captures the ions Calcium
and Magnesium, responsible
of the hardness,
exchanging them to Sodium.
before sodium misses,
the electronic controller
triggers the regeneration
of the resin
with regenerant salt
stored within the salt tank
and mixed with water to
generate brine.

The softener installation involves the elements listed and pictured here below. Please refer to the
Scope of Delivery sheet, which speci! es which elements are delivered with your softener.

It is under the installer’s responsibility to make sure that the installation does not generate any water
hammer which could damage the proper work of the softener. It is highly recommended to connect
the device with fl exible hoses.
