Active Return Upgrade Kit Installation
Active return upgrade kits are available to upgrade a passive return path to an active return path.While
preparation and installation are similar for all kits, each kit requires separate bench procedures.
These installation instructions provide bench procedures for installing the following Active Return
Upgrade Kits:
Preparing for Installation
All E7 Line Extenders require the same procedures for preparing for installation.
To prepare for return upgrade kit installation (all kits)
1. Open the housing and remove the RF module, referring to the instructions in Housing
Opening on page 3-4 and RF Module Replacement on page 6-2 as necessary.
2. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the eight screws securing the faceplate to the RF
module. Remove the faceplate to expose the circuit board.
3. Refer to the appropriate procedure in Installing the Kits on page 4-17 for your particular
return upgrade kit.
CAUTION: Modifications or alterations of C-COR products except as performed by
C-COR or its authorized representative will void the product warranty. Contact C-COR
Repair Services for more information.
