Insert the battery (p.24).
To charge the battery, see page 22.

Insert a card (p.24).
With the card’s label facing toward
the back of the camera, insert it into
the card slot.

Attach the lens (p.32).
Align the lens’ white or red index
with the camera’s index in the
matching color.

Set the lens focus mode switch
to <AF>
(p.32).

Set the power switch to <1>
(p.27).
When the LCD monitor displays the
date/time/zone setting screens, see
page 29.
