Introduction to Using Fax Functions
This section describes the things that you must do before using fax functions.
Be sure to set the following items rst:
Date and time
Set the current date and time. (See “Setting the Current Date and Time” p. 5-4.)
Your fax number
Register your machine’s fax number. (See “Registering Your Machine’s Fax Number” p. 5-5.)
Your personal name or company name
Register your name or company name. (See “Registering the Machine’s Name p. 5-5.)
Fax receiving mode
Set how the machine receives fax documents to suit your needs. (See “Selecting the Receive Mode”
p. 5-11.)
Your telephone line type
Set the type of telephone line that is connected to the machine. (See “Setting the Type of Telephone
Line” p. 5-12.)

Setting the Current Date and Time
You can set the current date and time. The current date and time settings are used as standard timer settings
for functions that require them.

Press [ ] or [ ] to select <TIMER
SETTINGS>, then press [OK].
