Where permitted by code, wheel stops are preferred over bollards for head-in or back-in
spaces.
When bollards are required by code, needed for snowy areas, or needed for curbside spaces,
ensure bollard placement does not interfere with removing and replacing charge cables in the
station’s side holsters. General recommended distances are shown in the bollard images below.
Try to minimize bollard interference with the movement of charge cables between the station
and the vehicle. Bollards are recommended to be no taller than 914 mm (36 in) where needed.
No bollard can be placed within 457 mm (18 in) of the station, as measured on-center.
Curbside bollard installation:
a. Use and service clearance of open space (not necessarily at grade)
b. Unobstructed front service clearance at grade
