T
he steam generated by engine
overheating can cause serious burns,
even if you open the engine
compartment just alittle bit. Keep
yourself away from the engine when
observing steam emission. Switch off
the engine, ask the passengers to
leave the vehicle and wait for it to
cool down. Before opening the engine
compartment, wait until the coolant
steam signals are extinguished.
•
If the vehicle continues in movement
while the engine is overheated, the
liquids can escape due to the high
pressure. You and other persons may
be seriously burned. Switch off the
overheated engine, leave the vehicle
and wait for it to cool down.

the fan must be actuated. If the fan does
not actuate, repairs are necessary. Switch off
t
he engine. If the problem is not identified,
but the coolant level is not at maximum,
add to the surge tank amixture of potable
water and additive for radiator. Refer to
Recommended Fluids and Lubricants 3186.

is at maximum. If the overheating warning
