Airbag deactivation.
Front Airbag System
T
he front airbag system consists of one airbag
in the steering wheel and one in the instrument
panel on the passenger side. These can be
identified by the word AIRBAG.
The front airbag system is triggered in the
e
vent of an accident of a certain severity in the
depicted area. The ignition must be on.
The front airbags are complementary security
d
evices, which along with the front seat belts,
increase the protection of the front passengers
in a front collision in a very abrupt decelerating
vehicle. Its function is to protect the head and
the chest against violent impact on the steering
wheel or the instrument panel in accidents
where the seat belts would not be enough to
prevent serious injuries and/or death.
The airbag system will not deploy in afront
collision with lower severity, in which the seat
belt will be enough to protect the passengers,
on lateral side and on the rear part of the vehicle
collisions, in rollovers and slippages and other
situations where the occupant is not projected
towards the front with severity.
