98 Climate Controls
Do not cover the sensor; otherwise the
a
utomatic climate control system may not
work properly.
Maximum Cooling
Briefly open the windows so that the hot air can
disperse quickly.
Switch on the cooling (9).
Switch on the air recirculation system (7).
Change air distribution (8) to Y.
Set the temperature control (1) to the
coldest level.
Open all the vents.
Set fan speed (4) to highest level.
Auto Air Recirculation System
To speed up the cool down and
reach the desirable temperature faster,
the air recirculation system will be
automatically activated by selecting all the
following functions:
Air distribution knob (8) to position Y or
6 or ).
Fan speed (4) to the higher speed positions.
Cooling (9) on.
The LED of the h
knob will illuminate.
After reaching the desirable temperature, the
recirculation mode can be deactivated anytime
by either pressing the recirculation button (7)
or by moving the fan speed (4) back to the lower
speed positions.
In case the recirculation is not deactivated
by the customer, it will be automatically
deactivated after 30 minutes, to allow fresh air
into the passenger compartment once again.
Air Vents
Use the fins on the air vents to change the
d
irection of the airflow.
On the center air vents, move the sliding knob
t
o the center to close off airflow.
On the side air vents, move the sliding knob
to the outboard side of the vehicle to close off
the airflow.
Operation Tips
Keep all outlets open whenever possible for
best system performance.
Keep the path under all seats clear of objects
to help circulate the air inside the vehicle
more effectively.
Clear snow off the hood to improve visibility
and help decrease moisture drawn into
the vehicle, which may improve long term
system performance.
Use of non-GM approved hood deflectors
can adversely affect the performance of
the system.
Do not attach any devices to the air vent
slats; this restricts airflow and may cause
damage to the air vents.
