6-3. Memory Switch Setting Mode
1) Settable Memory Switches
MSW1, MSW2, MSW3, MSW4, MSW5, MSW7, MSW9, MSW10, MSW11, MSW12
2) Starting the memory switch setting mode
Turn the power on while holding down the FEED switch with the paper set and the platen
opened, release the FEED switch and press it twice. Then close the platen. The memory
switch setting mode will be started.
When the mode is started, the POWER LED blinks while current settings and operation
guidance are printed out.
3) Selecting the memory switch
Each time the FEED switch is pressed a short time (0.5 seconds or shorter), the memory switch
is switched in the following order.
Each time the FEED switch is pressed a short time after the paper return sensor is forcibly
activated by placing paper, the memory switch is switched in the reverse order. The setting of
the memory switch currently selected will be printed out. When (11) is selected, settings
stored in the flash memory will be printed out.
(1) MSW1 → (2) MSW2 → (3) MSW3 → (4) MSW4 → (5) MSW5 → (6) MSW7 → (7) MSW9 →
(8) MSW10 → (9) MSW11 → (10) MSW12 → (11) Write / setting initialize
Notes on operation
• When the FEED switch is held down (two seconds or longer) with any of (1) to (10) selected,
you can change the setting of the selected memory switch. (Go to “4) Setting the memory
switch” described below.)
• When the FEED switch is held down with (11) selected, all of the current memory switch
settings are written into the flash memory. Then the printer is reset. (Go to “5) Ending the
memory switch setting mode” described below.)
• When the platen is opened and the FEED switch is held down with (11) selected, the current
memory switch settings are cleared and reset to the default settings. Then the printer will
be reset. (Go to “5) Ending the memory switch setting mode” described below.)
4) Setting the memory switch
(1) Print out the status of the setting item currently selected.
(2) Press the FEED switch a short time (0.5 seconds or shorter) to change the setting of the
selected item. When the setting currently set is selected, the ERROR LED lights up.
(3) Hold down the FEED switch (two seconds or longer). The setting currently made is
determined and the next setting item is selected. Change the setting as desired.
(4) Open the platen. The setting for the memory switch currently selected is finished.
When the platen is closed, the setting of the memory switch after change will be printed
out. Go back to “3) Selecting the memory switch”.
5) Ending the memory switch setting mode
After the required setting has been made, the changed setting will be saved and the printer will
be initialized (reset). Then normal printing operation becomes possible.
