A signal is processed electronically (conversion, linearization …) to produce a measured
value via the analog inputs of the controller. This measured value enters into the
calculations of the controller and can be visualized in the displays (measured value =
displayed value).
This fixed relationship can be modified if required, i.e., the position and the slope of
the measurement characteristic can be altered.
