TIREINSTALLATION
WARNING
•Whilemountingorinatingtire,keephands,ngers,etc.fromexposedareasbetweenthetirebead
andrim.
1.Cleanbothtirebeadstoremovedirtorotherforeignmatter.
2.Wherethetirebeadsseat,cleanthewheelrimwithawirebrush.Wipeawayanydebriswithacleancloth.
NOTE:Becausetubelesstiresrequireaperfectsealinordertoseat,keepingthetireandrimcleanisveryimportant.
3.Applyaliberalamountoftire-mountinglubricant(soapandwatersolution)tobothtirebeadsandrimanges.
4.Installthetireontherimfromthevalvestemside.Ifthereisnotiremachineavailable,usearubbermallet
andtireiron.
5.Removethevalvecore,andpositiontiresothatbothbeadsareontherimangenarrowbeadseats.
6.Placetireandwheelassemblyagainstwallinuprightpositionandpushitagainstwallwhileinatingtireto30-35
psi(2.07-2.42Bars).Thethree-pointcontact(wall,oor,andhand)willhelpensurethatbeadssnapintoplace
andformapropersealastireisinated(Figure8-2,Page8-4).SeefollowingWARNING.
WARNING
•Donotuseacompressedairsourcewithpressureover100psi(6.90Bars).Duetolowpressure
requirementsofasmalltire,over-inationcouldbereachedalmostinstantlywithahighpressureair
supply.Over-inationcouldcausetiretoexplode,possiblyresultinginseverepersonalinjury.
7.Quicklyremovetheairnozzleandinstallthevalvecore.
8.Adjustairpressureintiretorecommendedpressure.SeeSection2—VehicleSpecications.
9.Immersethewheelandtireassemblyinwatertomakesuretherearenoleaks.
