Can I delete a single recording? For security reasons you cannot delete a single event. To
erase any footage you must format the entire hard drive

7.2 Glossary of Terms
Term Description
DVR The main unit is a DVR or Digital Video Recorder. It has all of the
smarts to detect motion, record, playback and connect to the net
CCTV CCTV or closed-circuit television uses video cameras to view on a
monitor. The DVR can then be used to record the images
camera The connectors used by the DVR and cameras are camera connectors.
They are quick turn and attach or release connectors
Night vision The cameras are equipped with infrared LEDs which emit light the
human eye cannot see which allows vision in low light or night
vision
PTZ Control Some higher end cameras are equipped with PTZ or Pan / Tilt / Zoom
functionality. When connected to the DVR, the DVR can be used to
control the camera
Motion Recording The DVR is equipped with motion detection technology. When
enabled, if motion occurs in the vision of the camera the DVR will
begin recording
D1, HD1, CIF Resolution D1 is the highest resolution, essentially DVD quality, HD1 is literally
half of D1 quality while CIF is one quarter of D1. Recording in CIF will
record longer but with lower resolution while D1 will record with the
best resolution but take up the most space
