Displaying or Entering System Information
Displaying System Information—The following information can
be displayed using the Compaq Computer Security icon in the
system tray:
■ Computer serial number, asset tag, and ownership tag
■ Battery pack serial number and asset tag
■ Processor serial number
■ Docking station serial number and asset tag (if computer is
docked)
To display information:
Click StartÅSettingsÅControl Panel, double-click the Compaq
Computer Security icon, click the Information tab. Select the
device for the information you want to see.
or
Right-click the Compaq Computer Security icon in the system
tray, click Security PropertiesÅInformation tab. Select the device
for the information you want to see.
Entering Asset and Ownership Tags—You can enter a system
and docking station (if computer is docked) ownership and asset
tag and a battery pack asset tag.
To enter a tag:
Click StartÅSettingsÅControl Panel, double-click the Compaq
Computer Security icon, click the Information tab. Select the
device and type the ownership tag into the corresponding field.
or
Right-click the Compaq Computer Security icon in the system
tray, click Security PropertiesÅInformation tab. Select the device
and type the ownership tag into the corresponding field.
