Modem/fax PC
Card does not
work
The modem/fax card
conflicts with a system
board serial device
(e.g., mouse).
Click the modem icon in
Device Manager, then
click Properties to select
another COM port for the
modem/fax card.
If you are running
Windows NT 4.0, click
Start
à Control Panel
à Ports to select another
COM port for the
modem/fax card.
Card design or card
driver may not be
compatible with the
PCMCIA software.
Call Compaq Customer
Support for a current list of
Compaq-qualified PC Cards.
Network PC Card
does not work
Network driver is not
properly installed or
configured.
Use the Network
Neighborhood to identify
information about your
network card and setup.
Then use the Add New
Hardware wizard to install
the correct card driver.
If you are running Windows
NT 4.0, click Start

Panel
à Networks to identify
information about your
network card and to install
the correct card driver.
The network card
design or card driver
may not be compatible
with the PCMCIA
software.
