ST450EC
v1.11
4. CALIBRATION
The ST450EC gas detector should be checked and calibrated at least every 6 months (please
refer to EN 60079-29-2). The calibration frequency is directly related to the measurement
range, the sensor, the type of gas and the environmental circumstances.
The life expectancy of the sensor is limited and is specified in the specification sheet of the
sensor. To guarantee an optimal use and a long life expectancy Consilium specifies a minimal
calibration frequency for the ST450EC gas detector at delivery.
The ST450EC has 2 calibration settings: the “zero” and “span” level. The calibration of the span
level should be carried out using certified calibration gas.
The output range of the transmitter is 4-20mA. 4mA equals “0”, 20mA equals the end of the
measurement range. The measurement range depends on the used sensor and the calibration
and is stated on the type label of the sensing head.
Requirements for calibration of the ST450EC:
Flow/calibration adapter
Certified calibration gas (span gas)
Nitrogen (for Oxygen sensors)
Synthetic air (optional)
