  If the output signal does not correspond with the expected value, consider the following: * If the gas detector is connected as a 3-wire (24Vdc/GND/Sig), connect the sensor as 2 wire (+24Vdc/Sig). * If the gas detector is not correctly calibrated, calibrate the sensing head. * If the gas detector is not correctly connected, check the connections of the sensing head. * If the sensor is not correctly connected, check the sensor connections.

  If the display reading on the control module does not correspond with the applied gas concentration: * Check the SPAN gas set point and re-calibrate the gas detector if it is not correctly calibrated. * Check the sensing head connections if the gas detector is not correctly connected. * Check the sensor connections if the sensor is not correctly connected.

Why does my Consilium ST450EC Measuring Instruments gas detection control system alarm with no gas?

  The gas detection control system may produce an alarm when no gas is present due to several reasons: * The gas detector might not be correctly connected; check the sensing head connections. * An unscreened connection cable might be in use; use a screened connection cable with a tinned copper screening. * The screening of the connection cable might not be correctly connected; connect the screen within the cable gland of the sensing head and the cable gland of the gas detection control unit (as star ground). * The sensors may not be isolated from local ground; ensure the sensing head enclosure does not make any contact with an electrical conductive surface. * The connection cable might not be connected properly; ensure the cable is installed in separate cable conduits, away from p...
