ST450EC
v1.11
2. INSTALLATION
2.1 Installation and mounting
During the installation of the ST450EC sensing head, one should comply with the regulations
and practices of the country concerned. The following general rules should be taken into
account:
1. The sensing head should be installed in an area that is free from shocks or vibrations.
2. The sensing head should be accessible for maintenance and/or calibration purposes at
all time.
3. The sensor should be pointed downwards to avoid accumulation of moisture, dirt, dust
and/or chemical residue.
4. The prevailing air currents around the sensing head should contain the maximum
concentration of gas, to attain a maximum measurement effect.
During the installation of the sensing head, consider all gas properties such as relative vapour
density (the weight of the gas relative to air) and gas dispersion patterns. Environmental
conditions e.g. temperature, air streams and ventilation are elements that could influence the
diffusion of gas.
All possible leakage points like flanges, joints, pumps etc. should be identified as such and
continuously monitored.
Compare actual environmental specifications and regulations with the technical specifications
of the used detector.
Consilium offers several accessories to minimise the effect of rain, wind and particulate
matter. The available accessories includes:
Splash Guard (electrically conductive PC with SS-fibres)
