What to do if dispensed product from Cornelius Ice Maker comes out of dispensing valve clear but foams in cup or glass?
    • D
      danny39Aug 16, 2025
If the dispensed product from your Cornelius Ice Maker comes out clear but foams in the cup or glass, there might be an oil film or soap scum present, so use a clean cup or glass. Sub-cooled ice can also cause this issue, so avoid using ice directly from the freezer; allow it to become "wet" first. If the syrup is over-carbonated, remove the syrup tanks' quick disconnects, relieve tank CO pressure, shake the tank vigorously, and repeat as needed to remove the over-carbonation. Lastly, check for warm product due to lack of ice, bridged ice, or a plugged drain; replenish ice, break up ice to eliminate bridging, and unplug the drain.

Why is carbonation poor in my Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • E
      Elizabeth WalkerAug 19, 2025
If you're experiencing poor carbonation with your Cornelius Ice Maker, several factors could be the cause. A flooded carbonator can be the reason; refer to the section on 'PUMP MOTOR WILL NOT RUN' for troubleshooting. High water temperature can also affect carbonation, so lower the water inlet temperature. Check for oil in the water supply and replace any pipe thread compound with Teflon tape. If the supply water contains too much air, install an open tank with a float to control the water level. Also, consider using quality cups and ensuring all glassware is clean. Excessive foam, flat drinks, CO contamination, or a bad check valve can also contribute to poor carbonation.

Why is my Cornelius Ice Maker dispensing only carbonated water?
    • R
      Richard SmithAug 22, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker is dispensing only carbonated water, first ensure that the quick disconnects on the syrup tanks are securely attached. Next, check if you are out of syrup and replenish the supply if necessary. Verify that the B-I-B connectors are properly connected. Also, make sure the syrup secondary CO regulator is correctly adjusted. An inoperable dispensing valve or a dispensing valve syrup flow regulator that isn't properly adjusted could also be the cause. Finally, check for any restrictions in the dispensing valve syrup flow regulator, syrup tank quick disconnect, or syrup lines, and sanitize the syrup system if needed.

Why won't the pump motor run on my Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • A
      Audrey KennedyAug 26, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker pump motor won't run, it could be due to a locked pump rotor caused by dirt or pipe compound in the pump. Remove and check for free rotation or replace the pump. Also, check the CO supply, single check valve, liquid level control, or probe. Another cause could be a flooded carbonator, which occurs when the main water supply pressure is higher than the CO pressure. If the water supply pressure is within 20 PSI of the CO pressure, install a water pressure regulator. Lastly, check the electrical supply and connections to ensure there is power.

Why is my Cornelius Ice Maker only dispensing syrup?
    • E
      elizabethmooreAug 28, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker is dispensing only syrup, check if the plain water inlet supply line shut-off valve is closed and open it. Also, ensure that the carbonator power cord is plugged into the electrical outlet.

What to do if dispensed product carbonation is too low in Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • D
      Dylan OneillAug 31, 2025
If the dispensed product from your Cornelius Ice Maker has carbonation that is too low, vent air out of the carbonator tank through the relief valve and actuate the dispensing valve carbonated water lever to make the carbonator pump cycle on. If there is water, oil, or dirt in the CO supply, remove the contaminated CO and clean the CO system (lines, regulators, etc.) using a clean CO supply.

Why does the pump run continuously on my Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • M
      Michelle ChavezSep 3, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker pump runs continuously, check the water filter and pump inlet strainer and clean them. The water inlet check valve may be plugged, so remove, clean, or replace the rubber O-rings. To test for pump efficiency, disconnect the discharge line from the pump, connect a 300-pound gauge and hand shut-off valve to the pump discharge, start the pump, bleed off any air, close the hand valve, and observe the pressure. Also, check the pump capacity to ensure the combined flow rate from the dispensing valves does not exceed the pump's stated GPH.

    Dana FitzgeraldSep 6, 2025
Why is the pump on my Cornelius Ice Maker noisy?
    • M
      Mr. Jonathan Jacobs Jr.Sep 6, 2025
If you have a noisy pump in your Cornelius Ice Maker, it could be due to bad motor bearings or a worn pump shaft, in which case you should repair or replace the motor. Another cause could be the failure of the Triac on the liquid level control, so repair or replace the liquid level control. Insufficient water supply can also cause noise, so check that the water supply is on and inspect for a clogged water filter, ruptured tank, or bad double check valve.

What to do if no product is dispensed from one dispensing valve on Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • J
      Jasmin PinedaSep 9, 2025
If no product is dispensed from one dispensing valve of your Cornelius Ice Maker, repair or connect the wiring. If the dispensing valve solenoid coil is inoperative, replace the solenoid coil. If the dispensing valve micro switch is inoperative, replace the micro switch.

What causes off-taste or odor in drinks from Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • J
      johnsonxavierSep 12, 2025
If the drink from your Cornelius Ice Maker has an off-taste or odor due to water contamination, replace the O-rings in the double check valve or replace the entire double check valve. Remove any excess pipe compound from the pipe joints and clean them, then use Teflon pipe thread tape. Replace any brass or copper soda water and beverage lines with stainless steel or beverage-grade plastic. Install a water filter to reduce high chlorine levels (above 1.5 ppm), using a type that doesn't remove all chlorine. Replace the tank if there is tank corrosion and check that the CO is beverage grade to avoid contamination.
