rod is approximately 70 Rem/hr.
Disposal
Radioactive material is defined as a hazardous substance. It
should not be disposed of without considering others. When the
gauge is no longer needed or useful to the organization, it is
best to transfer the ownership out of the organization. A
disposal broker such as a manufacturer may take the gauge
back for a fee. In all cases, the recipient must be properly
licensed.
