Packaging
The package the gauge is shipped in, must meet certain
requirements. For radioactive material in Special Form, a Type
A package is appropriate. The package or a prototype must
be tested and a copy of the Type A Evaluation Report and
Certificate maintained on file for at least one year after the
latest shipment. This document will normally be supplied by the
gauge manufacturer. The manufacturer must also provide a
Closure Instructions document for the Type A package. This
document should be kept in the gauge case at all times. The
Type A tests include; water spray, free drop, corner drop,
compression, and penetration test.
Labeling
A radioactive label must be selected from the following:
