9. Tighten the hex screw holding the steering gear
shaft to a torque of 17 ft lbs (23 Nm).
10. Attach the outboard steering gear to the yoke with
the socket headed cap screw using a 1/4” hex key.
See Figure 4.24.
11. The socket head cap screw acts as the turn stop for
the front wheels.
NOTE: The socket head cap screw acts as a travel stop.
Do not replace it with a hex head screw.
12. Install the yoke by following the procedures
described in the front yokes section of this chapter.
13. Test drive the mower in a safe area before returning
it to service.
NOTE: Do not put a mower back into service if it does not
react properly to control inputs.
