7. If the regulator/rectifier fails any one of these tests, replace it with a new one.
8. Check the DC amperage output of the regulator/recti-
fier using a an Ammeter of sufficient capacity or a DC
Shunt tool and a volt meter set to read on the millivolt
scale, as described in the TOOLS section of this
chapter.
9. If the regulator/rectifier passes all of these tests, but
the battery is not charging, check the circuit between
the regulator/rectifier DC output (B+) terminal and the
battery positive post for a voltage drop.

• The harness connector, the 20A fuse, and the hot
post on the starter solenoid all lie between the reg-
ulator/rectifier and the battery.
