  First, ensure that your D-Link Network Router is turned on and properly connected to the network. If the DSL LED is off, check section A.1.3. Verify your WAN settings and make sure you've entered the correct username and password. If you are using wireless, confirm that both the router and wireless devices are using the same ESSID, channel, and WEP keys, especially if WEP encryption is enabled.

  If you've forgotten the password you changed, you'll need to upload the default configuration file. This will erase all custom configurations and restore the router to factory defaults, including the password. Alternatively, press and hold the RESET button for five seconds, then release it. When the SYS LED begins to blink, the defaults have been restored, and the router restarts. Note that the default username is 'admin', and the default password is 'admin'. Also, remember that both the Password and Username fields are case-sensitive, so ensure you're using the correct capitalization.

  Ensure you are using the correct IP address for your D-Link Network Router and that no console session is currently running. Verify that you have enabled Web service access and, if a secured client IP address is configured, ensure your computer's IP address matches it. For WAN access, remote management must be configured to allow server access from the WAN (or all). Also, your computer's and the router's IP addresses must be on the same subnet for LAN access. If you've changed the router's LAN IP address, use the new address in the URL. Finally, remove any filters in LAN or WAN that might be blocking Web service.

  Check the Ethernet LEDs on the front panel of the D-Link Network Router. A LAN LED should be on if the port is connected to a computer or hub. If the 10M/100M LEDs on the front panel are both off, make sure that the IP address and the subnet mask of the router and your computer(s) are on the same subnet.

  The ISP provides the WAN IP address after authenticating you, which may be through the username and password, the MAC address, or the host name. The username and password apply to PPPoE and PPPoA encapsulation only. Ensure that you have entered the correct Service Type, User Name, and Password, paying attention to capitalization.
