PRELIMINARY
To remove the cooktop:
1. The cooktop MUST be properly supported
from the bottom before the maintop can be
removed.
2. Using moderate force, remove the five (5)
Burner Control Knobs by pulling them
straight up off their valve shafts.
3. Remove the five (5) Burner Caps by lifting
them off the burners.
4. Remove the five (5) Port Rings by lifting
them off the burners.
5. Unscrew and remove the five (5) 25/32 inch
brass Venturi Nuts.
6. Lift and remove the five (5) Simmer Rings
from their respective assemblies.
7. Using a 1-1/16 socket, unscrew and remove
the five (5) brass Venturis.
8. Carefully lift the five (5) Burner Bases and
unplug the igniter wire from each base.
9. Push the wires through their respective
holes, and carefully raise the front edge of
the maintop.
10. Disconnect the bracket connector, located
on the right side of the right burner support
assembly. (The connector is located on a
small bracket near the right rear of the
burner support.)
11. The maintop can now be completely re-
moved for servicing the re-igniter, trans-
former, igniter switches or gas valve assem-
blies.
