Step 6: Exit
The Step 6: Exit option (from the main menu) allows you
to exit the utility.
R
esolving Resource Conflicts
The system configuration utility automatically resolves
resource conflicts between two EISA expansion cards. It
is extremely unusual for the system configuration utility
to fail in resolving a resource conflict between two EISA
expansion cards. If the system configuration utility fails
to resolve the conflict, see Chapter 11, “Getting Help,” in
the Installation and Troubleshooting Guide for informa-
tion on obtaining technical assistance.
However, resource conflicts between ISA expansion
cards are routine. If the utility cannot resolve the conflict,
you can have a technician remove the card, remove the
card(s) with which it is in conflict, or change the
resources on one or more cards.
D
isabling a Forgotten Password
If you forget your user or administrative password, you
cannot operate your system or change settings in the sys-
tem setup program, respectively, until a trained service
technician opens the computer chassis, changes the pass-
word dual in-line package (DIP) switch setting to disable
the passwords, and erases the existing passwords. This
procedure is described in “Disabling a Forgotten Pass-
word” in Appendix C of the Installation and
Troubleshooting Guide.
