Next steps
1. Install the expansion card riser 2 or the rear hard drive cage, depending on the configuration of your system.
2. Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system on page 56.
Integrated storage controller card
Your system includes a dedicated expansion card slot on the system board for the primary storage controller card. The storage
controller card provides the storage subsystem for internal hard drives of your system. The controller supports SAS and SATA
hard drives.
Removing the integrated storage controller card
Prerequisites
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions on page 55.
2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system on page 56.
3. Remove the air shroud.
4. Remove the expansion card riser 1.
Steps
1. Using Phillips #2 screwdriver, loosen the screws that secure the integrated storage controller cable to the connector on the
system board.
2. Lift the integrated storage controller cable to disconnect it from the connector on the system board.
