Furthermore, the binary of the app is obfuscated to make reverse engineering more
difficult. This prevents an attacker from gaining insight into how the app works,
making it more difficult for attackers to exploit the system.
Communication between the app and the cloud uses industry standard encryption
protocols and methods to protect data, verify data integrity, and to detect and prevent
data tampering
You are responsible for securing your display devices. If security is compromised, it
may affect the Dexcom data shown on the display device.
Use these tips to help secure a smart device:
l
Secure network:Only connect to a trusted/secure network
l
Secure smart device: Don't use the StelobyDexcom app on a jailbroken (Apple)
or rooted (Android) smart device
l
App sources: Only install apps from trusted sources, such as Google Play or the
App Store
l
Auto-lock: In smart device settings, turn on auto-lock and use a strong password
Backup and restore
The Stelo Glucose Biosensor System does not backup or restore configurations such
as settings or preferences.
If you suspect your display device security is compromised and affecting your Dexcom
data, contact technical support (in the app, go to Settings > Contact) and consider
using a BGmeter as needed until the issue is resolved.
Unless disabled, the StelobyDexcom app regularly communicates with Dexcom
Servers. Both the StelobyDexcom app and communication between the Stelo
Glucose Biosensor applications and Dexcom Servers are protected by a number of
mechanisms, designed to safeguard data integrity and data confidentiality.
