c) Piston ring and ring groove
z In case of piston ring's wear,
damage or engine overhaul,
replace piston rings.
d) Piston ring cut part clearance
z Measure the piston ring cut part.
z Insert the piston ring at the
cylinder liner's upper part
perpendicularly.
z With a feeler gauge, measure
the gap clearance of piston ring.
z If the measured value exceeds
the limit value, replace it

Top ring
0.35 ∼ 0.55 mm

2nd ring
0.80 ∼ 0.95 mm

Oil ring
0.40 ∼ 0.70 mm

e) Piston side clearance
z Assemble the piston ring at the
piston.
z Measure the each ring's side
clearance and if the measured
value exceeds the limit value,
replace rings or piston.

0.050 ∼ 0.085 mm
