3.6 Replacing the Printhead
The SmartDate 5 printhead can be changed quickly and easily.
Turn off the power to the controller and isolate the air supply to the printer body.
Remove the ribbon cassette.
Always ensure anti static precautions are used when handling new printheads.
3.6.1 Removing the damaged printhead
1. Push the printhead forwards in the
direction of the print line, against the
retaining spring.
2. Swing the back of printhead
outward, this allows it to be removed
from the print module.
3. Disconnect the printhead cable from
the printhead.
4. Inspect the module components for
wear or damage.
