3.8 Replacing the Ribbon Guide Rollers
The ribbon guide rollers are vulnerable to damage through misuse and may have
to be changed if they become bent or damaged.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Remove the damaged roller by
applying a spanner to the two flat
surfaces at the base of the roller.
2. Before fitting a replacement roller,
apply Loctite to the screw thread at
the base of the roller.
3. Place the new roller in position
and tighten.
4. Clean off any excess fluid and
ensure the roller is free to rotate.
