Operating Concept
Ventilation controls
A Keys for selecting the ventilation modes:
IPPV (CMV), SIMV, CPAP
BIPAP
®
/ASB (PCV+/PS)
SIMV/ASB (SIMV/PS)
CPAP/ASB (CPAP/PS).
B Ventilation parameter controls
– Inspiratory tidal volume VT [mL],
– Ventilation frequency Freq. [1/min],
– Maximum inspiratory pressure Pmax [mbar],
– O
2 Concentration O2 [%].
C Rotary knob.
For primary care Oxylog 3000 starts in IPPV venti-
lation mode with user -configured starting values
for I:E (1.5 as default setting) and PEEP (5mbar as
default setting).
Selecting the ventilation mode
z Press the appropriate ventilation mode key (A)
for approximately 3 seconds.
Or
1 Press the appropriate ventilation mode key (A).
2 Press the rotary knob (C) to confirm. The
selected ventilation mode will be activated.
The active ventilation mode is displayed in the
upper left corner of the display (B).
Refer to the section "Operation" on page 45 for
additional information on ventilation mode setting.

NOTE
Different ventilation modes and their parameters
can be set in the display window via the rotary
knob (e.g. Tinsp, PEEP, Δ ASB, Pinsp).
To select the parameter: turn rotary knob.
To activate the parameter: press rotary knob.
To set the value: turn rotary knob.
To confirm the value: press rotary knob.
