NOTICE
Damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge (ESD)
Electronic components are becoming smaller and smaller and more and more
complex. Their susceptibility to damage from electrostatic discharge is increased
accordingly. Therefore:
▶ To protect the components, measures must be undertaken to prevent electrostatic
discharge during all work performed at the open device (ESD protection).
▶ To prevent static charges building up on the human body, service employees can
for example be equipped with a personal earthing system.
NOTICE
The system may be damaged and contaminated due to the failure of the purge
air!
If the purge air fails, the lens may quickly become contaminated and the flame monitor
may overheat due to a build-up of heat and be destroyed. Therefore:
Make sure that
▶ the purge air supply is operating reliably and smoothly (even when the system is
stopped).
▶ you immediately detect a failure of the purge air.
▶ the flame monitor is protected by a valve or dismantling process in the event of a
purge air failure.
You can find the technical documents necessary for commissioning on the following
pages. The technical data can be found in section 10 Appendix: Technical data [}93].
7.2 Transport
Avoid rough impacts. If possible, use the original packaging for transport; The moul-
ded parts used in this packaging ensure safe transport.
7.3 Installation
7.3.1 Notes on selecting a suitable installation site
The specification of the right viewing position is part of ensuring optimal and selective
flame monitoring. Make sure that the flame is easy to detect for the flame monitor in all
of the burner's load ranges and that there are no flames from neighbouring burners in
its monitoring axis where possible.
The flame monitor has a viewing angle of approx. 6°. This must always be aligned to
the area at the base of the flame (the flame's ignition point), i.e. the first third of the
flame.
7.3.2 Attaching the flange
The D−LX 201 is installed onto a sighting tube with a G1¼" outer tube thread.
