XS series operating manual
XS user manual v0.55 - 146 -
Operation of the XS 4-wire option in XS hipot function
Reminder:
The purpose of this option is to detect the presence of the test piece and not to improve
measurement accuracy (like the 4-wires in ground continuity)
The principle implemented is based on the use of an additional HV cable and a
2nd GND return cable for voltage re-reading. Detection of the absence of a test piece corresponds to a
nil voltage re-reading.
Option operation phase
Warning
The option is only active during the test hold phase.
The user wishing to save time in the event of the non-presence of a test piece can stop the test at the
beginning of the hold phase, as soon as the instrument status switches to connection fault.
