Supercapacitor
The supercapacitor circuitry allows the metrology and clock to remain operational while the main
battery is disconnected. When fully charged, the supercapacitor circuitry provides power for key
functions for at least 15 minutes (excluding power for communications).
8 Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
The LCD is the main user interface for the meter. It provides feedback during installation,
manufacture, calibration, diagnosing issues and for customer reference. The LCD consists of two
rows of dot matrix characters (Figure 8-1).
A long press of the right or left key activates the LCD:

The design has meant that there is no longer a need for fixed segments and they will instead be
displayed on the first row of the LCD. The graphical representations are no longer available but
rather displayed with letters. The first row will display the following:
Non disablement period indicator. “Non-
Disablement” will be displayed along the top
row. Gas supply must be ON regardless of
meter balance (Prepayment mode only).
Low Credit warning. “Low Credit” will be
displayed in the top row, the customer is in
Low Credit state (Prepayment mode only).
