6.11 Gas ballast oper

Gas ballast is operated by a black plasc knob that may be posioned to either posion
0 (which means the gas ballast is closed), posion 1, or any other elevated rim result
that feeds air to the pumping mechanism with a ow of approximately 25 slm.
If water vapor is present within the system, or will be pumped by the product the gas
ballast must be used to prevent damage to the product. The gas ballast should connue
to be applied with the pump running, for at least 1 hour aer the water vapor source
has been removed to enable the pump to dry.

6.12 Gas ballast adaptor t
The manually operated gas ballast knob can be replaced by a gas ballast adaptor which
enables e
xternal electrically actuated valves or a controlled gas supply to be used
through a 1/4 inch push t connector. To install the gas ballast adaptor:
