VNX7500 Block and File platform stackup
The Block and File (Unified) VNX7500 platform comprises a dual 1U or 2U standby power
supply (SPS), storage processor enclosure (SPE), Control Station, and four Data Mover
enclosures (with two Data Movers per enclosure).
Note: Throughout this guide, figure references are placed in the Part number label location
heading of tables because some of the tables have part number locations, as described in
Table 3 on page 12 and some do not, as described in Table 1 on page 10, for example.
This format is used throughout this guide.
Front view
On the front, viewing from top to bottom, a Block and File (Unified) VNX7500 platform
includes the following hardware:
◆ One to two 1U Control Stations
◆ One to four 2U Data Mover enclosures with the first 2U Data Mover enclosure having
two Data Movers and the remaining three 2U Data Mover enclosures having from two
to six Data Movers for a total of 8 Data Movers.
◆ One 2U SPE chassis with two SPs; each SP has two power supply/cooling modules
and one CPU module
◆ One dual 1U standby power supply (SPS)
Note: You use a dual 2U SPS when a 4U DAE with Flash drives is used in a Vault drive
configuration. Otherwise, the dual 1U SPS is used with the 2U or 3U DAE as the Vault
drive.
Figure 1 on page 5 shows an example of the front of a Block and File (Unified) VNX7500.
The DAEs are not shown.
