4.1 Maintenance Safety Instructions
EXPLOSION HAZARD BY MODIFICATION
Modifi cations affecting the integrity of type of protection (e.g. affi xing
additional threads) are NOT PERMITTED!
Violation may cause an explosion and/or personal injury or death!
EXPLOSION HAZARD BY REPLACED PARTS
Replacement of parts found defective is permitted only by using original
parts!
Any addition, substitution, or replacement of components installed on or
in this device, must be certifi ed to meet the hazardous area classifi cation
that the device was certifi ed to prior to any such component addition,
substitution, or replacement.
After maintenance or replacement of components relevant for explosion
protection, an authority has to certify, that the analyzer still meets the
requirements for explosion protection. A related document must be issued
and/or a label be applied to the analyzer before setting into operation.
Any modifi cations to the device, not authorized by Emerson Process
Management will void the product certifi cation(s).
Violation voids the approvals and may cause explosions!
HAZARDS BY GASES
When measuring fl ammable or toxic gases, it is recommended to purge
the system with air or an inert gas, e.g. nitrogen, prior to opening the gas
paths.
Violation may cause an explosion and/or personal injury or death!
