If structural design factors do not allow the FQR56 and FDR56 to be installed directly opposite
oneanother,themicrowavebeamcanberedirectedbymeansofatmetalmirrors(reectors).

• Please note that the FQR56 and FDR56 must be positioned symmetrically with respect
tothereector(angleofentrance=angleofemission),asotherwisetheFDR56willnot
receive a signal that it can evaluate.
•Usingreectorsreducestherangeofthemicrowavebarrierbyapproximately10%per
reector.

Achoiceofdierentprocessadaptersisavailablefromtherangeofaccessories,dependingon
where you want to install the device and on the process conditions.

5�1�5 Parallel use
Inpractice,multiplemicrowavebarriersaresometimesusedinparallelatonelocation(e.g.
for detecting multiple level limits in a pipe). To prevent the microwave barriers from inter-
feringwithoneanother,aseparatechannel(between1and5)canbeselectedontheFQR56
transmitterforeachmicrowavebarrier.Additionally,everysecondmicrowavebarriershould
berotatedby90°.
