• Do not reuse a maintenance box that has been removed and left uninstalled for a long period of time.
• If you cannot re-attach the cover, the maintenance box may not be installed correctly. Remove and re-
install the maintenance box.
Note: The maintenance box is a user-replaceable part and is not covered by the product warranty.

Make sure you have a new maintenance box before you begin.
Caution: Do not reuse a maintenance box that has been removed and left uninstalled for more than a
week.
Note: You cannot print or clean the print head while the maintenance box is full, but you can perform
tasks that do not require ink, such as scanning.
Note: If you see a message about the borderless ink pad on the LCD screen, contact Epson for support.
The borderless ink pad is not a user-replaceable part.
1. Make sure the product is not printing.
2. Remove the new maintenance box from its package.
Caution: Do not touch the green chip on the maintenance box. Doing so may prevent normal
operation and printing.
