EST Centurion WS - Design Features

significantly increases the sample throughput of the Autosampler. There is no need to
purchase a second autosampler. All modes perform per their programmed method.
The EST Centurion W or WS is easily programmed through their own keyboard and
mouse. The Centurion W or WS has two USB ports for the keyboard and mouse.
Programming is menu driven and displayed on a color monitor. Parameters can be read
and altered and the screen displays the function in progress during the run.
The Centurion W or WS when connected to an EST Encon Evolution concentrator
further enhances cost savings and improves sample throughput with the Foam Sensor
option on the Evolution. The Centurion W or WS works with the Evolution to rinse the
sparge tube with a pre-programmed number of hot water rinses whenever a foaming
sample is detected. This option prevents the accidental transfer of a foamed sample to the
GC column which can result in down time and costly repairs.
NOTE: For clarification purposes, the use of the word Centurion throughout the
manual shall refer to both the Centurion W and WS.
1.2 Design Features
 Dual 50 position removable sample trays for 40ml VOA vials.
 Rugged X-Y-Z platform.
 Windows XPe™ operating platform.
 Runs blanks from its own blank/wash water reservoir.
 Sample Loop sizes range from 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25ml.
 Syringe Option, allows dilutions from 2x to 400x and sample sizes from 5mls to 25mls
in 1ml increments.
 All sample pathways are chemically inert, manufactured from PEEK®, Stainless Steel,
or Teflon.
 Separate needles for the soil and water modes thus minimizing carryover between the
two matrices.
 Built in Minimizer Valve aiding in the removal of contamination on the soil side by
diverting some of the bake flow from the concentrator through the soil pathway of the
Centurion.
 Programmable volume addition of Internal Standards/Surrogates.
 Optional sample tray cooling capability. Optional refrigerated chiller is required.
 Priority Sample feature allows the current analysis to be interrupted for RUSH
samples.
 Fast easy programming from the keyboard/mouse combination.
 Programmable methods may be stored for various method configurations.
 A sample may be run from any position in the tray.
