16 OneTrack and OneTrack Backbone Planning and Installation Manual
Installation Methods
OneTrack can be:
• surface-mounted directly to a ceiling
• surface-mounted to a wall
• suspended by threaded rod, aircraft cable, or drop ceiling T-track
A variety of mounting accessories are available. See
OneTrack Mounting Accessories on page
44
for more details.
OneTrack Backbone can be:
• attached directly to building structure using standard Unistrut
®
beam clamps and
hardware
• suspended using threaded rod and standard Unistrut hardware
OneTrack must be installed properly to ensure that power and data are uninterrupted
throughout the system. Track pieces must be level, plumb, and aligned correctly at each joint
for optimum performance. Stress on connection joints due to improper installation can lead to
unsatisfactory results including loss of data signal and intermittent power loss.
Surface-mounting provides the most stability at each joint location due to the rigid connection
to the structure. However, surface-mounting is often not an option for track lighting
applications.
