7.4.3 Adjusting the contact pressure of the scraper system
The contact pressure of the scraper system is controlled by an
adjustable tension spring. The contact pressure is adjusted with
a tensioning nut (see Fig. 22/a).
Note
Insufficient contact pressure causes poor product scraping.
Excessive contact pressure increases wear of the scraper knife.
On new units, the contact pressure is optimally adjusted for the
most common products. If adjustment for your product is
necessary adjust the contact pressure so that it is as low as
possible.

Indications of insufficient contact pressure are mentioned in the
troubleshooting section.
To adjust the contact pressure:
!" Increase contact pressure: Turn the
tensioning nut (Fig. 22/a) clockwise.
!" Decrease contact pressure: Turn the
tensioning nut (Fig. 22/a)
counterclockwise.
