2 Function
2.1 General
The product is intended for operation as a controller in an automation system CPX-E and can be pro-
grammed with CODESYS in accordance with IEC61131-3.
Communication with a PC via a network connection (Ethernet). Standard Ethernet (TCP/IP) and Mod-
busTCP are also supported.
2.1.1 Crossover detection (auto MDI/MDI-X)
The product supports crossover detection (auto MDI/MDI-X), which means that there is the option of
using patch cables or crossover cables.
When using patch cables and crossover cables in the network, crossover detection must be activated
in the higher-order controller.
2.2 Internal address assignment
In addition to the controllerCPX-E-CEC, a maximum of 10modules is permitted in one automation sys-
temCPX-E. The address space of an automation systemCPX-E is limited. The controller provides the
automation systemCPX-E with a maximum address space of 64bytes for inputs and 64bytes for out-
puts.
The internal addresses for the inputs and outputs of the automation system CPX-E are assigned auto-
matically.
