Thereareanumberofdifferentwaysofcontrollingthecameraremotely.
•Viaawebbrowser—WiththecameraconnectedtoalaptoportabletviaEthernet,you
canusethecamera’swebbrowsertoviewandcontrolthecameraremotely.
•ViaaJCU—WiththeJCUconnectedtothecameraviaanetworkswitch,youcanuse
theJCU’sphysicalcontrolstocontrolthecameraremotely.
•ViaaRaymarineLightHouse3MFD—WiththecameraconnectedtotheMFDor
theMFD’snetworkviaRayNet(Ethernet),youcanusetheMFD’sVideoapptoview
andcontrolthecameraremotely.
Note:Itisalsopossibletoswitchthethermal/visiblelightvideofeedofdualpayload
cameravariantsusinganyofthecontroloptionslistedabove.
5.2Cameraimage
TheM300cameraoutputsanIPdigitalvideofeedwhichcanbedisplayedonavideo
monitor,awebbrowser,oraRaymarineLightHouse3multifunctiondisplay(MFD).
Dependingonchosencameramodel,theIPdigitalvideofeedcomprises:
•Visiblelight(daylight)image
•Thermalimage
•Statusiconsoverlaidonthevideoimage
ThermalCamera
Y oushouldtaketimetofamiliarizeyourselfwiththethermalimage.Thiswillhelpyouto
getthemostoutofyoursystem:
•Considereveryobjectyouviewintermsofhowitwilllook“thermally”asopposedtohow
itlookstoyoureye.Forexamplelookforchangescausedbytheheatingeffectofthe
sun.Theseareparticularlyevidentrightaftersunset.
•Experimentwithdifferentpalettesandscenepresets.
•Experimentbylookingforhotobjects(suchaspeople)comparedtothecoldersurroundings.
•Experimentwiththecamerafordaytimeviewing.Thecameracanprovideimproved
daytimeviewinginenvironmentswheretraditionalvideocameraperformancesuffers,such
asinshadowsorbacklitscenes.
