Why does my FLYGT 3202 Water Pump run but the motor protection trips?
    • M
      Michael TerryAug 14, 2025
The motor protection might be set too low. Adjust it according to the data plate and cable chart, if available. The impeller could be difficult to rotate; clean the impeller and the sump, and ensure the impeller is properly trimmed. The drive unit might not be receiving full voltage on all three phases; check and replace any tripped fuses, or if fuses are intact, consult a certified electrician. A malfunction in the overload protection may exist, in which case you should replace the overload protection. Also, the density of the pumped fluid may be too high. Ensure that the maximum density is 1100 kg/m3 (9.2 lb/US gal). You can also change the impeller, or change to a more suitable pump.

What to do if my FLYGT 3202 does not start?
    • C
      Christopher BrownAug 17, 2025
If your pump doesn't start, it might be due to an alarm signal triggered on the control panel. Check that the impeller rotates freely, the sensor indicators don't show an alarm, and the overload protection hasn't tripped. If the pump doesn't start automatically but can be started manually, check that the start level regulator is working (clean or replace if needed), all connections are intact, the relay and contactor coils are intact, and the control switch (Man/Auto) makes contact in both positions. Also, check the control circuit and functions.

Why does my FLYGT 3202 Water Pump start and stop rapidly?
    • W
      William AlexanderAug 21, 2025
The rapid starting and stopping of your pump could be due to back-flow filling the sump to the start level again. Ensure the distance between the start and stop levels is sufficient and that the non-return valves work properly. Also, check that the discharge pipe between the pump and the first non-return valve is sufficiently short. Another cause could be a malfunction in the contactor's self-holding function. Check the contactor connections, the voltage in the control circuit relative to the coil's rated voltages, the functioning of the stop-level regulator, and whether the voltage drop in the line at the starting surge causes the contactor's self-holding malfunction.

What to do if my FLYGT 3202 Water Pump does not stop when a level sensor is used?
    • S
      Sarah Gardner DDSAug 25, 2025
If the pump continues to run despite using a level sensor, it could be because the pump can't empty the sump to the stop level. Check for leaks in the piping or discharge connection, ensure the impeller isn't clogged, and verify the non-return valves are functioning properly. Also, make sure the pump has adequate capacity. Alternatively, there might be a malfunction in the level-sensing equipment; clean the level regulators, check their function, inspect the contactor and control circuit, and replace any defective items. Finally, the stop level might be set too low; raise the stop level.
