6.5 CHANGING THE CO
2
FILTER (For Qualified Service Personnel Only)
Note: Under conditions of normal use, and dependent upon the purity of gas being used,
the CO
2
filter should be last for about five years.
If the CO
2
filter becomes clogged, replace it with Forma stock #770001.
1. Disconnect the unit from the power supply.
2. Turn the two 1/4 turn fasteners on the control panel, grasp the CO
2
sample port, and
slide the control panel out.
3. Locate the CO
2
filter at the back of the control panel. (Refer to Wiring Diagram,
140181-71-0-D for location)
4. Remove and replace the filter.
6.6 CO
2
TEST INSTRUMENTS
The best standard available for zeroing or calibrating the CO
2
controller is air, which
typically contains 0.033% CO
2
by volume. Variations from this figure are insignificant.
It is very important that any Forma automatic CO
2
incubator be zeroed to air (See
Section 4.15). CO
2
test instruments should be used as a secondary check or to verify the
percentage of CO
2
at operating levels.
