7.3 37°C CONTROL CALIBRATION
If the digital display indicates a temperature other than 37°C when the
chamber temperature has stabilized (temperature select switch set to 37°C and it
has been at least 45 minutes since the last door opening), it may be necessary to
re-calibrate. (If the unit has not been in service, at least eight hours is required to
stabilize, with at least 45 minutes since the door was opened.)
To calibrate:
1. Make a note of how much the display varies from 37°C.
2. Locate the 37°C calibration adjustment on the control panel. (See Figure
5-2 in Section 5.)
3. Using the calibration screwdriver, turn the calibration screw one turn
clockwise for every half degree that the display is below 37°C. Turning the
screw counterclockwise will lower the temperature.
4. Allow the temperature to stabilize, and check the display again. If it still
varies significantly, repeat Steps 1 through 3.
Caution: Servicing should be performed by qualified service personnel
only. Disconnect the incubator from the power source before
starting service procedures.
7.4 CALIBRATING THE TEMPERATURE MONITOR
Calibrate the digital display of the Monitor and Alarm module to the
incubator’s actual chamber temperature as follows:
1. Place a thermometer of known accuracy in the geometric center of the
chamber and allow the unit to stabilize for four to six hours. Turn the scale of the
thermometer toward the door so it can be read without opening the glass inner
door.
2. Turn the black, slotted fastners on the extreme ends of the contro panel and
slide the whole assembly out far enough to access the Monitor Alarm circuit
board.
