ENGINE WITH ELECTRIC START
Ifthemachineisequippedwithenginewithelectric
start:
- Checkaspreviouslyreportedforothergasoline
enginesanddiesel;
- Thenturnclockwisewrenchonpicturetostart,
releasewhentheenginestarts.
Afterstartingtheengine,settheacceleratorleverto
halfstrokeandlettheenginerunforafewminutes
towarmup.
Duringtherstworkinghours,donotusethema-
chineatitsmaxcapacity.Donotexploittheengine
toomuch.
WARNING
To facilitate starting the engine cold, actuate the
choke valve (see the engine booklet).
If the engine does not start after many tries, call
the Service.
While you are working, hold the handlebars rmly
to prevent the motor hoe from slipping from your
hands and always check that no people or animals
are within the operating range of the machine.
4.3 FORWARD MOVEMENT - SHIFTING
Proceedasfollowstoengagethegears(3forward
speeds+3reverse):
1) withtheclutchleverfree(vertical)andthema-
chinestopped,taketheenginetotheminimum
rpmbymeansoftheacceleratorlever(9Fig.1).
2) Selectoneofthegearsbypullingorpushingthe
hearselectionrod(11Fig.1)dependingonthe
work to carry out and the engine power avail-
able.
3 Placethepalmofyourlefthandonthetipofthe
controlclutchlever,whichisstillupright,andwith
your ngers, press its locking/unlocking device
(15Fig.1).
4 Withthepalmofyourhand,atthispoint,slowly
bring down the control clutch lever (7 Fig. 1)
untilitrestsontheknobofthehandleandhold
it for as long as you need; keep in mind that
eachgearposition(operationorneutralposition)
correspondstoaclickoftheselectionbar.
In case you nd it difcult to engage the gear
desired, arrange with your left hand to gently
pressdownonthecontrolclutchleverwithyour
right hand while pulling or pushing the gears
selectionbar.
5)Accelerateuptothedesiredspeed.Releasethe
clutchlever(7Fig.1),tostopmachinetravel.
4.3.1 REVERSE
Reversingisobtainedasfollows:
1)Withtheclutchleverfree(vertical)andthema-
chinestopped,takethe engine totheminimum
rpmbymeansoftheprovidedlever(9Fig.1).
-Selectthedesiredgear;if thisis difcult,press
lightlyontheclutchcontrolleverasdescribedin
thepreviousparagraph.
-Raisetheringlocatedunderthecontrol(A10Fig.
1) and actuate the inverter lever to engage the
reverse gears. This operation makes it possible
toinvertthemachine's motion fromforwardto
reverse;then,inordertomovethemachineinre-
verse,actuatetheclutchcontrolleverasdescribed
inparagraph4.3.
-Cautiouslyacceleratetothedesiredspeed.
-Releasetheclutchlevertostopreversetravel.
ATTENTION
ABSOLUTELY NEVER ENGAGE EITHER FORWARD
OR REVERSE GEAR WITHOUT FIRST COMPLETELY
RELEASING THE CLUTCH CONTROL LEVER AND
WAITING FOR THE MACHINE TO STOP.
4.4 DURING OPERATION
- Whenyoucrossslipperyorsinkinggrounds,drive
slowly.
WARNING
- Do not cross yielding grounds where the machine
might overturn; run at minimum speed in reverse
by paying attention not to stumble on obstacles;
if this happens, immediately release the control
devices and the machine will stop automati-
cally.
- The obstacles must be passed at reduced speed
and any driving reaction must be controlled.
- Do not start the machine abruptly
- Do not transport persons or animals in the ma-
chine.
