5)Releasetheropewhile itrewinds.Incasethe
enginedoesnotstart,repeattheoperation.
ENGINE WITH ELECTRIC START
Ifthemachineisequippedwithenginewithelectric
start:
- Checkaspreviouslyreportedforothergasoline
enginesanddiesel;
- Thenturnclockwisewrenchonpicturetostart,
releasewhentheenginestarts.
Afterstartingtheengine,settheacceleratorleverto
halfstrokeandlettheenginerunforafewminutes
towarmup.
Duringtherstworkinghours,donotusethema-
chineatitsmaxcapacity.Donotexploittheengine
toomuch.
WARNING
To facilitate starting the engine cold, actuate the
choke valve (see the engine booklet).
If the engine does not start after many tries, call
the Service.
While you are working, hold the handlebars rmly
to prevent the motor hoe from slipping from your
hands and always check that no people or animals
are within the operating range of the machine.
4.3 FORWARD MOVEMENT - SHIFTING
Proceedasfollowstoengagethegears(3forward
speeds+3reverse):
1) withtheclutchleverfree(vertical)andthema-
chinestopped,taketheenginetotheminimum
rpmbymeansoftheacceleratorlever(9Fig.1).
2) Selectoneofthegearsbypullingorpushingthe
hearselectionrod(11Fig.1)dependingonthe
work to carry out and the engine power avail-
able.
3 Placethepalmofyourlefthandonthetipofthe
controlclutchlever,whichisstillupright,andwith
your ngers, press its locking/unlocking device
(15Fig.1).
4 Withthepalmofyourhand,atthispoint,slowly
bring down the control clutch lever (7 Fig. 1)
untilitrestsontheknobofthehandleandhold
it for as long as you need; keep in mind that
eachgearposition(operationorneutralposition)
correspondstoaclickoftheselectionbar.
 In case you nd it difcult to engage the gear
desired, arrange with your left hand to gently
pressdownonthecontrolclutchleverwithyour
right hand while pulling or pushing the gears
selectionbar.
5)Accelerateuptothedesiredspeed.Releasethe
clutchlever(7Fig.1),tostopmachinetravel.
4.3.1 REVERSE
Reversingisobtainedasfollows:
1)Withtheclutchleverfree(vertical)andthema-
chinestopped,takethe engine totheminimum
rpmbymeansoftheprovidedlever(9Fig.1).
-Selectthedesiredgear;if thisis difcult,press
lightlyontheclutchcontrolleverasdescribedin
thepreviousparagraph.
-Raisetheringlocatedunderthecontrol(A10Fig.
1) and actuate the inverter lever to engage the
reverse gears. This operation makes it possible
toinvertthemachine's motion fromforwardto
reverse;then,inordertomovethemachineinre-
verse,actuatetheclutchcontrolleverasdescribed
inparagraph4.3.
-Cautiouslyacceleratetothedesiredspeed.
-Releasetheclutchlevertostopreversetravel.
ATTENTION
ABSOLUTELY NEVER ENGAGE EITHER FORWARD
OR REVERSE GEAR WITHOUT FIRST COMPLETELY
RELEASING THE CLUTCH CONTROL LEVER AND
WAITING FOR THE MACHINE TO STOP.
4.4 DURING OPERATION
- Whenyoucrossslipperyorsinkinggrounds,drive
slowly.
WARNING
- Do not cross yielding grounds where the machine
might overturn; run at minimum speed in reverse
by paying attention not to stumble on obstacles;
if this happens, immediately release the control
devices and the machine will stop automati-
cally.
- The obstacles must be passed at reduced speed
and any driving reaction must be controlled.
- Do not start the machine abruptly
- Do not transport persons or animals in the ma-
chine.
