Layer 3 Upgrade Procedures
This appendix describes how to upgrade your device to run the full Layer 3 software code

Upgrade Kit Contents
Before beginning the upgrade, please verify the package contents. If any items are missing from the kit, contact
your place of purchase. The upgrade kit contains the following:
• Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection kit
• Upgrade sticker that says “PREMIUM”
• CD-ROM containing the software and documentation
• Upgrade instructions (this document)
• Dual Inline Package (DIP) key (also called a PROM) that has eight pins. You should have one of the part
numbers listed in Table A.1.
